Bio

Mari Stølan is a Norwegian strategic and cultural advisor, with 15 years experience working at the intersection of art, culture and business.

Previous to her work as an independent advisor, she led the strategic development work at the MUNCH museum in Oslo, developing the museum’s international strategy, following a one-year pilot exploring cross-sector partnerships and commercial collaborations across London, Milan and Rome. The initiatives brought together museums, brands and embassies, receiving international coverage in publications including Vogue Italy and Harper’s Bazaar.

In addition to an international focus, Maris work at MUNCH included delivering MUNCHs Audience Strategy and developing MUNCH Publishing.

Prior to MUNCH, Mari Stølan worked independently and as Business Architect at the strategic innovation consultancy Æra, leading development projects across public and private sectors for organizations including the Norwegian Red Cross, Varner Group and OsloMet.

She is also co-founder of SØLV, a heritage clothing brand exploring slower and more transparent approaches to fashion production through a direct-to-consumer, pre-order business model. Through SØLV, she spoke at TEDxOslo on intentional business development, creativity and sustainable growth. The brand was nominated for both the Norwegian design award Nåløyet and the Norwegian Design Council’s Young Talent Award.

Mari is educated in design and business at Central Saint Martins, University of Arts in London, and BI Business School in Oslo.
